Frequently Asked Questions

Linking Angels is a community-driven initiative founded by Michael Nessa. We harness the collective power of small donations — $20 at a time — to make a substantial impact. Together, we gather the funds of 5,000 contributors to donate $100,000 to a non-profit organization chosen by our members.

Nominate: Every member has the opportunity to nominate a non-profit organization that they believe is making a significant impact.

Vote: Members vote on which of the nominated organizations should receive the funds.

Donate: Join our community by pledging $20 to our collective fund.

Award: The organization with the most votes receives a $100,000 donation from our collective effort.

Anyone who wants to make a difference is welcome to join Linking Angels. There are no geographic restrictions. If you believe in working together to support meaningful causes, you are encouraged to participate.
You can nominate a charity by filling out the nomination form on our website. Please provide details about the charity and why you think they deserve the donation. All nominations are reviewed and then put to a community vote.
Each donation cycle starts with the nomination process, followed by voting, and ends with the awarding of the $100,000 donation to the chosen non-profit organization.

No, there is no limit. You can participate in every donation cycle if you wish.

Transparency and trust are paramount at Linking Angels. We ensure that every dollar donated goes directly to the non-profit chosen by our members. We provide updates and reports on how the funds are used by the non-profit to keep our community informed and engaged.
Yes, we proudly share the outcomes and impacts of all previous donations on our website. Visit our ‘Impact’ section to see detailed reports and updates from the non-profits we’ve supported.
We encourage continuous participation. Even if your nominated charity doesn’t win in the current cycle, your support contributes to a significant charitable effort and your charity remains eligible for future cycles. We welcome you to nominate them again in subsequent rounds.”

Michael wants to give the $100,000 donations to organizations that will really notice it. Therefore, the focus is on small to medium size organizations.  I will determine eligibility on a case-by-case basis.

The only requirement that is written in stone is this: you must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. You will be required to show proof of your 501(c)(3) status.

In determining whether your organization is selected for participation I will be looking at factors such as: how long has your organization been in existence, how much money do you take in and how much money goes out, what are your administrative fees, in what ways do you help others, do you have an Internet and social media presence, how creative and fun is your organization, along with other factors.

Michael will select 20 non-profit organizations to participate. There will be approximately a 31-day voting period. The organization with the most votes will become our selected organization that we raise money for. After the voting period is over we will begin accepting donations. We will not accept donations for organizations that do not receive the most votes. We will include a link on our site for people to donate directly to your organization.

It’s a complicated mathematical calculation. You need to take the annual revenue of the non-profit, add 70, multiply that number by 10, divide by 2, and lastly, multiply by 0.

Are you laughing? I hope so.  There are no fees to participate and there are no fees if you are selected as the charity that we raise money for. Michael is covering, out of pocket, the cost of payment transaction fees on the donations so that 100% of your donation is going to the non profit.

In the event that the full $100,000 is not reached, the non-profit will receive the total amount of donations raised. Your organization will never be giving a dime to Michael or Linking Angels.

Develop a plan of action. During the voting process it is vitally important to get out and get votes. People can vote daily. Use social media, have your local newspaper write up a story, send out an e-mail, include a link in your newsletter. Do what you need to do in order to get people to vote. The organization with the most votes gets 100% of the attention on them. It’s invaluable!
